Continuous Improvement Analyst. We use tools within the Microsoft platform such as Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps etc to automate existing process within Arups people services team to eliminate as much manual workload as possible and simplify process we use. We also use tools such as Excel and Microsoft Forms. Day to day we use a combination of these tools to work on projects and meet with clients to discuss new projects or existing projects. We also have team meetings to scope out and discuss progress.
Before my apprenticeship I had little experience with Microsoft Power Platform and now feel I can use the applications independently and will continue learning. I also feel much more confident when presenting and communicating with others across the business. Through my college provider I have also developed a greater understanding of project management.
I really enjoy my programme as no day is the same and I get to work on various different projects and meet with lots of new people through work and sports and social events. There is also travel opportunity to different offices and events which I particularly enjoy
My apprenticeship is very well structured day to day. Arup are very flexible with my hours and I am given a day during the week for college work so that I dont need to work on it outside of work hours. I also have regular workload catch ups and one to one sessions to get feedback.
My team always make time to support with work when needed and I am often given useful training exercises to help with my development. I am also included in team projects to gain better understanding and experience. There are also lots of support networks available and have been given the right resources to access those if needed.
I meet with my training provider once a month for a full day session and given work to complete while receiving feedback on submitted work. There are also good support networks available. Slightly more communication could improve my experience with my training provider.
I learn useful things which I can apply to my role and also things which I dont regularly work on that I can introduce into my day to day role for a different outlook on things. I can also share this with others in my team. My qualification has helped improve my work
At Arup we have a sports and social society which set up various sporting teams which range from football to go karting and other sports. There are also quarterly social events often decided by the staff. There are all office partys for summer and Christmas aswell as various team social events throughout the year. The early careers team put on networking events and socials for apprentices and graduates to network with eachother and other companys.
Yes
In my experience Arup is a great company to work for with lots of opportunity to progress. It offers a very good support network and provides great networking opportunity. The social side is good with sports teams and events and they also provide a generous salary which lots of other apprenticeships do not offer.
Arup is a company which isnt just interested in academic grades and achievement. When applying the best advice would be to be to talk about yourself talk about hobbies and interests and dont solely focus on academics.
