I work with other teams within the organisation to create software engineering solutions, which includes automating business processes and creating applications.
I have developed many skills, including technical skills in writing good software, database design, team working skills, how to run agile teams, leadership skills to bring people together and work on projects, communication with stakeholders and team members.
The programme is very enjoyable and rewarding, although there are some parts of it where there is less enjoyable mandatory training and tedious tasks, it is a fantastic programme.
The programme is well structured and is maturing well, I was part of the first cohort of its existence and it is growing a lot with many new apprentices. It is clear what I am working towards and how I will finish the apprenticeship.
My employer is very supportive and has paid for numerous courses, training material, they are very keen to ensure that I can see the equipment that is being worked on and they have a great focus on developing apprentices.
The training provider provides good support and regularly check in on us to ensure that we are progressing, the college has been improving since I have started the apprenticeship.
The qualification is helping a lot with my role, I have taken some of the technical skills learned in my qualification and applied them into work projects. It is also great for the softer skills and other skills like project management.
The extra-curricular activities is very good at my apprenticeship, there are many social clubs, sports teams, etc. The organisation also has many networks and encourages the apprentices to be involved with them, and even leading them.
