During my time as a degree apprentice at Mott MacDonald, I have been fortunate enough to work on a variety of projects that vary in size and complexity. I have had the opportunity to engage with clients and participate in a number of stakeholder workshops. I have also worked with colleagues all over the country as well as colleagues in Prague.
Key skills I have developed during my time at Mott MacDonald include: ArcGIS, Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, Travel Plans, Traffic and Transport Environmental Impact Assessments and Active Travel Zone Assessments.
I am thoroughly enjoying my programme. I am able to see the connections between the taught learning modules and the workplace. My most recent module on Project Management was particularly interesting.
Very well.
I receive a lot of support from my employer. I have regular catch up meetings with my line manager to ensure I am meeting the requirements of my apprenticeship.
I receive great support from my university and know who to go to if/when I am struggling.
The knowledge I am gaining from my university can be applied in the workplace, helping me become a better Transport Planner. It has also helped me further develop the skill of time-management through balancing my work and studies.
My local team have monthly socials which I regularly attend. My office also has a Sports & Social team which organise events, these are often good networking opportunities.
