  • I am a triple site hotel manager managing a total of 50 team members over 3 locations I am accountable for all compliance including finance health and safety and GDPR. It’s my role to create plans for guest measures and push the team to achieve and all green wincard

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have developed existing skills in managing a team, how to manage upwards. I have added new skills on developing par rates and how the wider hospitality businesses influence how whitbread is run I have connected with other managers across the estate as well and have grown in confidence throughout

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I do enjoy the programming especially the practice professional discussion that I have with my learning coach It is not easy to manage my day to day job with the apprenticeship as it’s not as easy as ‘doing it along side your work’ like they sell it to you

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Yes it’s well organised and well structured and my learning coach is brilliant. I like Aptem and how it works though not all of it is relevant for me as I have over 10 years managment experience and sometimes I feel I am re-reading the same material over and over

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I don’t receive any support from my employer but I don’t actually need it. If your doing an apprentiship you should take control of your own learning I reach out to my coach if needed and time managment is difficult but that’s hospitality You have to fit it in

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • My trianing provider is brilliant anything I need my coach is there They give me all the tools I need make sure I know how to use the tools connect me to webinars and skills days and also to virtual classrooms which is great Good provider and very helpful to me

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My qualification will help me by building my Managnent skills with running teams and networking in a large company I will also be able to guide my employees through their apprentiships which is very helpful. I think it will give me an edge if applying for another role and will help me with my confidence

  • No we don’t have extra curricular activities

  • Yes

  • As a team member whitbresd look after you lots of perks and opportunities as managment it’s a case of give them everything you have and then they might look after you We do not get paid enough for the amount of time we are meant to be working We don’t have the ability to work remotely and we have to be on call 24 hours
