Hotel reception. Departing and checking in guests, allocation of rooms. Creating jobs for maintenance, working alongside housekeeping to ensure all rooms are in good working order before being given to a guest.
Developed my english, understanding how to discuss issues raised with both guests and team members, understanding back office tasks, forecasts and use of other softwear based programmes for other departments.
I am enjoying learning and understanding the inner workings past checking in and departing guests.
Very well organised, my tutor is always on hand if i need to ask her anything about my course and making sure im keeping up with my online progress
I get a lot of help from my manager and other management in the area. We hold apprenticeship meetings to catch up on our work, get help where needed and they want to help me succeed
My tutor helps me a lot when i get stuck, shes only a phone call or email away and is always so helpful! She us very understanding and takes time to make sure you understand before moving on.
Its made me step back and reconsider how i approach my work in general. I take a moment to think before acting upon a task and its helped me with guiding my team members when needed
Charity events and fundraising on site, preparing for mothers day and easter within the hotel as we gift to mothers and children staying with us

Because its opened up so many opportunities, i have support from both my trainer and other hotels. she truely cares about each of her students, and she really is a credit to our area in lifetime learning
