My role is to care for children between the ages of 6 weeks to 5 years old, day to day I complete fun activities with the children including crafts, out door play and imagintive play, I complete meal times and help with nappy changes/using the toilet etc.
I have developed my skills in my weekly planning and my communication and relationships with parents, I have learnt about new methods of observations and furthered my knowledge on certain policies and safe guarding.
I really enjoy my programme as childcare is a subject I have a lot of interest in and have worked in for years now and I feel my programme is helping me build my knowledge and confidence well.
My programme is organised well, I can always clearly see my assignments and what units I am working on, I can also look ahead at assignments I'll complete in the future to get a head start on my learning too.
I receive a good amount of support, my employers are always there to help me and guide me when I need it.
I receive a lot of support from my training provider, any questions I have are always answered and whenever I need help they are always there to guide me in my learning.
I feel my qualification helps me a lot to perform better in my role, as I am constantly learning new information about child care in all aspects that I can implement in my own work and daily tasks. It has really helped to build my confidence.
There are not any extra-curricular activities in my workplace.
Yes
They are a friendly and fun company to work for, I have built many friendships here, as well as developing my confidence, experience and knowledge in childcare.
Be open minded and flexible, as we work with such a range of ages in my setting things don't always go to plan, so it's important to be able to go with the flow and adapt easily.
