My role is an apprentice data analyst. This involves looking at data sets and creating tools/scripts that help people visualise and interpret their data more effectively. I also advise colleagues on what data they need for their query as well as connect colleagues to other colleagues due to my domain knowledge.
I have picked up skills like SQL, Tableau, Python and more whilst undertaking this apprenticeship. I have developed these skills ever since I started the course and am still currently developing them. I have also been able to learn key and critical soft skills as well which support me on a day-to-day with presentations etc.
I enjoy my programme a lot, I feel as though the content is very interesting and I know the skills I am able to pick up will help me in future
My programme is well structured to me and the FCA. The programme has separate modules where by we learn new topics gradually over the duration of the course which is perfect for my development.
I receive lots of support from my employer. I have had a few managers since being at the FCA and all of them have been really understanding and supportive when it comes to my course and development.
So far, I have received support from my provider. When it comes to technical support I have been supported as well as practical support (preparation resources).
My programme/qualification is currently helping me and my team solve technical requests that include data analyst tools like SQL, Python etc. Due to these skills our teams productivity is constantly improving.
There are many professional networking events at the FCA which is really helpful for me as I start my career. There are offerings in relation to extra-curricular activities as well which are always shared across the whole company.
Yes
I believe the FCA is a really good place to work. It's culture, environment and values are really likable and all colleagues I have interacted with so far have always been supportive and friendly. This has been really helpful for my development as an apprentice.
I would recommend having a look at the FCA's values and objectives. These things are vitally important to the FCA and builds the foundations of what the company truly is.
