As a Care leader I am responsible for the day to day running of the households this includes medication administration, Liaising with the GP and other members of the multi-disciplinary team, writing and reviewing care plans.
I've have learnt how to request medications, write and review care plans. I have also developed skills in appraising staff
Its interesting and has pushed me to further my knowledge and develop my working practices. However some of the Units have been of no interest to me as they were chosen for me
It was well structured and organised to begin with however as the NVQ has progressed it has become less so
Poor support. No time given to achieve my 20% of the job hours
Little to no support since my original personal tutor left the company and no support to choose the optional units that actually interest me
At present not at all
None
No
Lack of support when Personal tutor leaves the company. This is the second time this has happened and as yet I have not heard from my new one. They chose all my optional units for me so I have had lots of stress and anxiety about units that don't interest me or I have little understanding of
Make sure that you are given the work that you want and that interests you. Keep in constant contact with them as they will not keep in constant contact with you
