Undertake project related tasks, take part in meetings either in office or on site/ client offices. Work with my project team to support its progression and manage specific processes.
Communication, problem solving and scheduling are key skills that I have developed since starting my apprenticeship. The job role heavily involves organisation, making sure key milestones are hit, or deadlines are met. It is also team orientated, and helps develop relationships and communication skills.
I enjoy the variety offered within my programme from working in different places, getting exposure to different environments and large scale projects. The people that I've met have mostly been great people and it has allowed me to learn and enjoy different aspects of the role further.
The programme is well structured in terms of education - work as a ratio. I have enough time to study well and also gain real world experience through working as an apprentice. The progression path is also clearly laid out, and expectations are set from the get go.
I receive a good amount of support in terms of professional development and also well being support.
UCEM offer a good range of tools and support mechanisms that can be used to help when studying, or potentially struggling with certain topics. Regular check ups take place and 1-1 sessions with tutors can be arranged.
I am still fairly new to my role but I've been able to apply things that I've learnt in my course to my day to day activities. Understanding theory also makes it easier to know how/when/why certain things are done, and are mostly useful in the workplace.
Mace participate in many different social activities on a regular basis which helps develop relationships with colleagues. They also have sports teams such as football, which we play fairly often mostly in charity events with other companies in the industry. Things such as yoga are also ran in the office.
Yes
There are lots of good opportunities in the company to develop professionally within the industry and also to learn many transferable skills.
Be keen to learn and not afraid to voice your opinion. Mace pride themselves as being inclusive to all, so make sure to be yourself, but also be ready to apply yourself and work hard.
