I manage the preliminaries on the project so the ongoing costs like logistics and monitoring of the site etc alongside some small packages i have to assess applications for payment to sub-contractors and then issue Interim payment certificates. I also send tender invitations out to sub-contractors too.
I have developed my organisational skills and stress management. I have also got faster at using excel. I have learnt how to communicate professionally too, verbally and over email.
I enjoy being on the construction site and developing everyday and getting closer to my long term goals. I dont enjoy how much my work piles up and this can become overwhelming especially when im put under time restraints with both university and work.
It is organised but communication from the business to explain how its structured to our line managers is bad. My line manager who manages me day to day does not know the structure and could do with a training day on it.
I get told what to do if i require support but realistically If I cant ask for time restraints to be removed from my work. I want to show i can handle the work so that it doesn't get used against me when it comes to pay reviews. I haven't been told that it can be used against me or that there is any company policy that states, if I ask for my workload to be reduced it cant be used an excuse for my pay rise to be held back so I wont ask for help because no one can guarantee this to me.
I get told my assignments and in the lectures I do receive support.
It does in the sense my overall knowledge is increasing but the module assignments and materials are relevant to Residential work, therefore i work in commercial developments so some of topics of roofing are less relevant but i probably will learn more about commercial development bits.
yes lots of extra curricular events.
