Go to college and go to classes
Practical skills, electrical hand fitting. We’ve learned how to successfully connect wires in ring and radial formations (and from ring back into radial). And learning how to do it safely
I enjoy it since you’re using actively using your brain all the time, at my last job all you had to do was stack shelves and it was a rinse and repeat. Learning new things and putting it to practice is refreshing and doesn’t allow you to feel bored
On Gatwick’s side it’s very structured but college isn’t the best when it comes to its structure. When it comes to some lecturers not being the best at teaching or certain lessons not giving us assignments and then they pile it on near the end of the year.
if you ask you’ll receive support and we’re always told if we need help they’re more than happy to give it.
A decent amount
most of our classes do help to further understand how and why the things at our workplace work. Like our three phase or PLC systems class. And our electrical hand fitting class helps us too for the future
Outward bounds is a week long team building trip in the Lake District that apprentices do every year for the 4 years
Yes

be confident and passionate about what you’re pursuing
