I pull together the timeline and information of everyone else in the teams work and formulate a programme to keep everyone on track and chase up certain areas if they are behind to keep the project working towards the correct end date. Day to day I speak with all members of my team to ensure everyone is on track.
I have developed my Microsoft skills working with Excel, but also learnt skills in using many other apps ad systems within my job. I have also further improved my communication skills by speaking to new people often.
I thoroughly enjoy my programme. Everyone I work with is understanding and helpful and eager to teach the new comers and there is lots of support in all areas for new Apprentices and Grads.
My programme is very well structured. The University course is well organised and the coursework and exams are well explained and taught so they can be completed effectively. The work I complete during my work days is also well tailored to suit the course I am studying and allows me time in my work day to complete any University tasks I am required to do.
Lots of support if needed. The company is very understanding and want to help get the best out of each apprentice so they will often do check ups to see how everyone is getting on and they will give time out of the work day to complete any assignments required for University.
Lots of support. The lecturers are very helpful with any questions about the topic or coursework or exam structures and content. There is also a personal tutor at the university who will meet with the Apprentice and Line Manager and be a support system for if the apprentice needs help for any reason.
It has definitely helped. It has given me a better understanding of what is going on when visiting sites, and also what people in the office are talking about so that it no longer just sounds like words I don't understand. This therefore allows me to engage more in group discussions at work as I have more knowledge on the topics.
There are many apprentice events throughout the apprenticeship to engage with your colleagues that you may not work with. There are often socials set up throughout the year within teams so that they can get to know each other better and outside of work. There are also Networking events hosted externally that anyone is able to attend if they wish to further their knowledge and meet new people in the same industry.
Yes
The team I work with are so kind and helpful and always make me feel like they have known me forever, never like a new starter. Everyone has so much advice and is eager to teach you, with no judgement for how much you may know or not know. It is also very easy to make a nice group of friends within the apprentices as everyone wants to get to know everyone and likes to encourage each other to be better in their own role.
Do your research into the company and the past projects. Do research into the role you are applying for and have a basic knowledge of it, well enough to explain it in simple terms. Come up with an idea of something about yourself that your CV doesn't mention, so that you can have more to talk about.
