Yes I have developed communication skills and confidence in my role. I have also developed my organization and teamwork skills as there is a wide variety of people involved in my project from various companies.
I really enjoy my Programme, I look forward to coming into work and working with my project team. Every day is different and there are always new challenges to deal with.
There is structured internal training from Mace as a company as well as the university I work with.
There is a lot of support from the employer, my line manager is very supportive in helping me get the experience I need to excel and gives me responsibility in my role.
As it is an online university it can be tricky to know how to go to when you need support in a particular subject however there are contacts available when you need support.
I feel like my qualification in construction management is very relevant to my current work role and I can constantly apply what I am learning to my day to day tasks.
There is lots of volunteering opportunities for you to get involved in which is also a good networking opportunity. The internal training sessions provided by Mace also give you an opportunity to meet other apprentices.
Yes
It is a great company to work for, with good people who are knowledgeable and can help you understand the project and how to become a good project manager.
Be yourself and show a willingness to learn and take on responsibility from the get go. It can be hard work juggling both working and university but both parties are accommodating and help you to achieve this.
