Civil engineering but part of the construction delivery team. Time split fairly evenly between office and site, looking at package progress, safety and structural QA.
Time management, communication upwards and downwards and engineering technical knowledge and practice.
On-site activities are very enjoyable and interesting. I am more of an real-life learner, so prefer my experiences at work to university.
University day and internal training days have fallen on the same day this academic year, which means I haven't attended any internal training sessions. The rest of the scheme is extremely well structured.
I have a great project team, including my line manager, and can reach out to a range of people in the business. Overall, very good.
They are offer a lot of support when I have had to reach out.
It helps for the fundamental knowledge of construction works. I've found it especially helpful for my role as temporary works supervisor.
Social events within the project team, ranging from evenings out to golf days. Networking events
