I’m currently working in the configuration department where I am setting up several types of devices for several different customers. I’ll soon by going to the other department where I will be doing repairs and installations.
I have learnt about the different IT concepts such as how to boot and setup devices. I’ve also improved my core skills such as communication and also attention to detail.
I think there is still so much more for me to learn but I’m really happy with what I’ve done so far. For the time I’ve been here I’ve come a long way and greatly developed a range of skills.
The programme that I am doing is quite new to the department so I understand that everything may not be as structured as they wanted. This is partly because of unexpected changes to the programme from the training provider.
I receive tons of support from everyone in the company. Whether that be my colleagues or my manager or the apprenticeship staff. I never feel worried when I ask a question and everyone is very helpful when I do have one.
My training mentor is very helpful and shows a real eagerness for us to genuinely do well. As someone whose aiming to get the best grade possible, it’s really helpful to have someone whose constantly pushing me to get the best grades possible
The qualification that I am doing directly links to what I am doing at work so sometimes when I see something new at work it will be on the qualification course work majority of the time.
There have been a couple different activities but I feel as though this is one area of my specific programme that is lacking. I think that going out to more customer sites and see how computacenter are setup there would be insightful.
Yes
A great place to work and grow. As someone who has never worked in a corporate role before, having people around you who will support you and help you grow is exactly what you need and that’s what computacenter have done.
I would suggest them to go for it! I have no doubt that computacenter is the best place for me to develop.
