I am a project assistant on the Pharma and Life Sciences Business Unit, my role day to day is spent on site at AstraZeneca, Macclesfield where I engage in a variety of work packages that are all involved in producing a operational drug manufacturing facility.
I have learnt plenty of new skills involving both chemical engineering knowledge (Mathematics, Chemistry and the Basics of Chemical Engineering) and project management (excel, microsoft co-pilot and other software of efficiency)
I thoroughly enjoy my programme, it has given me the opportunity to be involved in a large scale pharma project that is making a real contribution to saving the lives of cancer patients across the globe.
Very well organised, my employer has consistently provided training resources and material that have been structured throughout the year to aid us in our learning and picking up key skills towards project management.
Plenty, my line manager, other Mace employees on site, wider Mace support system including the emerging talent team who organise the apprenticeship program. I feel comfortable going to all these for a chat for things happening on site or general inquiries.
I receive time to dedicate towards my study that is backed by the SIPPE standard.
I believe it allows me to think scientifically and analyse situations in a rational way, this aligns well with the current literature on solving problems and using root cause analysis.
Yes, there are walking clubs, networking events, development sessions that allow you to network with your cohort and also eternal connections outside the company, which could come in handy for later bids.
