Pay subbies, negotiate tenders, manage project margins and find ways to improve these with the project team. Compensation events and early warnings. Running 2 of my own projects so take the lead on all commercial aspects of the job and am responsible for all of the figures and running of the job.
Yes, loads. Have developed a commercial understanding and awareness of the construction industry. Learnt how to deal with people on my team and external clients. I have learnt how to manage expectations whilst also delivering what needs to be done. This job has developed my skills in all aspects of life
Really enjoyable, my cohort of apprentices are supportive and sociable. There isn’t anyone who I don’t get on with. The work is enjoyable and my project team is very supportive and puts my development first. My line manager regularly sits down with me to find out where I need extra help
Very organised, colelge timetable available to us well in advance so we can organise our lives around college. The learning flows and you build up experience on one area that will then help you complete work and in the next. I am fully satisfied with my development and never feel lost
Masses, regularly sit down to track development and make sure the relationship is working for both of us.
