To manage the pupils in the classroom, assist them with their daily activities, help plan, accompanying the children on trips etc
Yes I have learnt about handling kids and the fact that a lot of autistic children can be non verbal and communicate using sign language and images
I really do enjoy it as I feel there’s always someone willing to help and so much access and links Lmp send you to even be covered meanwhile you’re on half term too.
It’s structured quite well and your manager is always there to help you and you may even have a mentor within your apprenticeship too to help you. I just wished they had an actual app though as that would make it totally easier to do stuff such as time sheets.
I receive a lot to be honest as I always receive messages every week from them and have meetings at least twice a month or so and can book them in very quickly via email.
I have weekly conversations and meetings quite often too and have all their own contact details below every email. My training provider even said I could use one of my work colleagues who used to be an apprentice like me and allow him to assess me when the time comes
It has helped me be more aware of health and safety issues and maintain them to a high standard( especially since the day after I attended that training we had ofsted in our school).
There’s a play scheme during the summer that runs that you are able to sign up for if you want
Yes
It has a range of different fast track courses you can do and help you achieve your ambition and get a good range of support to help you and learn many different new skills and gain a certificate.
Make sure you communicate with your tutors and don’t be shy to get additional help and support if needed to extend your course or apprenticeship especially if you get distracted easily.
