Within my role, I am utilised as front of house for the business making sure the showroom is stocked and presentable. I have been carrying out stock takes to make sure all records are up to date. I also have the duty of drawing up service records into invoices, bank reconciliation and settling outstanding payments on customer accounts.
Sadly, the delivery from Paragon Skills has been substandard. I have requested to be moved to an alternate tutor as I feel like the training has been skipped over, with no real-time examples being given and simply referring back to the workbooks which don't flow.
I am enjoying my job role as I get to be customer facing and assisting with their needs, however I have thought about leaving the apprenticeship entirely or requesting to move training provider.
When I signed upto the program I was told the study day would be 1 day a month, this was incorrect as its on average 3 days per month. I do not dispute the need for more training days as currently I don't feel like the days are long enough or thought out to get the most out of the studying experience.
I work for a small company (director, me and two mechanics) the purpose of my employment was to learn the process of bookkeeping however currently I don't feel like I've advanced much past my already obtained administrative experience from previous employment.
When the class have asked for more examples, for questions to be explained differently, even for the follow up recordings of the lessons it has taken MULTIPLE attempts to get these requests fulfilled. Personally I haven't seen a benefit to working with Paragon Skills and won't be recommending them futher.
Currently I do not feel like it is meeting the needs.
