To learn new skills and gain knowledge so that I can be a competent electrical engineer
I have learnt a lot of theory knowledge about electrical components and I have also developed practical skills using tools and wiring up electrical components and creating cable enclosure systems
I enjoy my practical experience very much however tech cert days can be quite long and sometimes learn about things not relevant to me. I also don’t enjoy my tutorials and think it is a waste of time as no one learns anything and the time could be put to better use.
The programme is very well organised
I receive support from my employer if I ask for it.
I receive support when I am stuck and ask for help but sometimes they let me figure it out on my own so that I can improve .
I think some of the things we are doing won’t be used on board a ship and isn’t very applicable but does help me learn more about electrical systems
Not in the first year of my apprenticeship that I am aware of
Yes
Because it pays well while doing something that is enjoyable, I much prefer it to normal school(A levels/university)
