My role is essentially a teaching assistant in a SEND school. I support the teacher and other TA’s to provide the best education possible to children with autism. This includes managing different behaviours and supporting the children in their life at school.
This apprenticeship has helped me learn how to manage my time wisely. Ive also learned many new ways of communication, behaviour management and generally more about autism through training provided by my apprenticeship and placement.
I enjoy my programme as the placement itself is extremely rewarding and so worth it. Also, the work is never too difficult and if I was to get stuck there are many people to reach out to for support and help.
The programme is very well organised.
I receive a lot of support from my employer. There are many people to reach out to for support when needed.
When you start your apprenticeship you are assigned a tutor who is always available to support with any questions you have to do with the work
My training helps me perform my role at placement better because it teaches me more about things I need to know to do my job, like how to safeguard, etc.
There are often group teams meeting which you can chose to participate in about many different things
Yes
Because of the amount of support in place to help complete your apprenticeship
Don’t be afraid to reach out and ask for help when needed
