  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Currently, I am in my first year at Babcock. This involves daily college attendance, with two days being at city college and then 3 days at oceans gate.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • At this present moment, I do not feel that I have learnt adequate skills for the apprenticeship. I feel that in the long run of the apprenticeship this may affect me.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • In my experience of the apprenticeship it hasn’t been bad. but there isn’t really much for me to be able to go off due to what I am doing during this first year.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • At the moment for the higher apprenticeship i feel the organisation has been very poor, this is to do with many aspects that have come up during my time here. A main one is that the communication with me as student, the college and babcock this first year hasn’t been great.

  • Currently, there’s been no cause for me to seek support from my employer.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • There has been some support received, but for the first few months it was very poor and I feel that I have just been pushed to the side

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I am doing a level 4 b-tech in engineering. this will be very useful for the career i’m currently pursuing within Babcock.

  • At this moment in time there is nothing.
