I mainly do Estate Management, which involves maintaining the assets on the estate, this comprises a mix of admin, visits/inspections and interacting with tenants and other stakeholders. Management can comprise a wide mix of tasks, we have to find the best solutions for a range of issues. We also do some consultancy, advising on various land related issues.
I have developed my skills of communication with other people, both professionals and other parties. I have also improved at admin and managing my workload.
I get to look into a wide range of issues that require unique and tailored solutions, this variety has made my role very rewarding and enjoyable. I am surrounded by very friendly and professional people who are keen to see me develop.
Savills make sure that you are fulfilling the goals of your course, they provide training where necessary and there is support available if you are struggling.
Although Savills do not provide much support for the UCEM course, they provide ample support in our preparation for professional exams.
UCEM are not the best at providing support, several times I have had to go to great lengths to get sufficient feedback on my assignments.
Some modules are helpful in my line of work, but others are unrelated.
Our office occasionally goes out for a meal and Savills will hold an away day every year that allows people across the northern region to interact.
