Get to site for 9am most days, days vary from day to day. Some days are spent in the office doing lap top work getting ready for the Theory test or LGV driving, answering emails and other days are spent out on the road in a van or pool car and this could be to collect drivers from one site and move them to another to collecting vehicles and moving them from one site to another or taking them for an mot or servicing.
Yes I've learnt and passed my Theory test for my LGV license. I've leant about how Thames water works as a company and how sewage is treated. I've also learnt about the UN SDG goals. I will also be improving my Math's and English through this apprenticeship.
I really enjoy this programme, I've made some new like minded friends on the LGV apprenticeship. I've also met others on different apprenticeships within Thames Water who started in 2023.
From my short time with Thames water the programme seems very well structured although on the odd occasions there have been the odd communication hiccup.
Loads of support, any issues I can go to my mentor or to my manager on site.
All the support I need from the training team.
I will have a life skill once I finish my training so I'm very satisfied with the qualification I will gain from my training and I will give me the confidence to do my job safely.
Yes one such activity is the annual raft race on the River Thames to raise money for Water Aid where employee's from across the company can take part in making a raft and race to the finish.
Yes
Really good company to work for, many benefits one been a good pension, there is other benefits like a car scheme or cycle to work scheme and more.
