  • I help support members in achieving their goals and promote overall independence and self confidence. I help plan and execute activities that are personal centred and accessible for all. I also help support my team on a day to day basis.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have developed my understanding of care tailored to the individuals and how to apply this in practices. I have also expanded my knowledge in the legislations and regulations surrounding the care industry, this have built my self confidence in decision making and in leadership.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoyed the online workshops as it is a great way to engage with others on my course and learn from their experiences and knowledge. I also enjoy my 1:1 with my tutor as she has really helped build my confidence in care.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Overall the programme is structured and organised. In the month you are expected to do your e-learning, then your workshop and finally finish your module activity. The only improvement I can think to make is the wording on the e-learning as sometimes I get confused on my next steps.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive a lot of support from James’ Place, especially from my line manager. If I feel stuck or am struggling with a module I feel comfortable to talk to my line manager about my concerns.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I receive a lot of support to from Paragon, I have monthly meet ups with tutor Kelly. I also feel confident to text her if I have any concerns or issues. My teacher Luke also is very supportive and offers help in every workshop. Very graceful!

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Very well, I have been applying everything I’ve learnt to work and I have noticed significant improvement in my work performance.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Not many, but we do go out and be a month on staff outings to help build our teamwork and have fun together as a team.

  • Yes

  • James’ Place is a positive welcoming place to work, everyday is rewarding as you help a wide range of individuals achieve their goals. I have learnt and gained so much confidence form working there.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to James’ Place Adult Day Care?
  • Develop your knowledge in personal centred care as this is the biggest ethos at James’ Place.
