Development and maintenance of new and existing systems, with a focus on the server-side. Usually work solo or with my small development team on projects. Responsible for the software I build and ensure that it continues to function properly.
I have gone from only being able to make a console app to building SPAs, monitoring tools, message decoding and more. I have learnt a lot about the fundamentals of software development.
The content was okay at best, I felt as though it would have greatly benefitted from much more practical and team work as to consolidate the covered material.
I felt as though it was well structured as the provided modules had a clear focus. These were always mixed in with some soft skills and other content to further broaden my skillset. The modules themselves were split up into Discover, Practise and Apply tasks to help clarify the goal of each stage.
I received as much as I asked for, which I found to be extremely helpful. My manager always chose projects for me that were challenging but not too difficult so I could efficiently progress in my career.
A DLC (designated learning consultant) is assigned to each learner, which allows for effective and personalised support catering to the needs of each student. There is also 24 hour support available within their learning platform and plenty of material designed for the purpose of answering common questions.
I feel as though it has given me confidence and motivation to perform better.
We have company briefings that are followed by a social evenings.
