My role at Pfizer covers a whole range of different jobs and tasks. This can range from creating dashboards and analysing large datasets, all the way through to creating informative videos for my team and automating processes with coding. Every day is something new which makes my role all the more exciting!
My confidence has improved significantly throughout my time on the apprenticeship so far, and my ability to communicate my thoughts and ideas to a larger group of people has definitely become a lot better. Away from the soft skills, coming into the data science apprenticeship with no prior coding experience was something I was slightly anxious about before joining. Now over half a year in, my team has made sure to make my introduction to coding work at the right pace for me and has timed it well with my university course to ensure my projects are relevant to my studies.
My team is great, the variety of work suits me really well. No reason to not give it a full ten out of ten!
Very well organised in terms of my employer side of the program, however there are times where I feel that the university could distribute the workload better.
With how well put together my apprenticeship has been so far, it is very rare that I feel the need to ask for extra support, but on the rare occasion that I do, the support I receive is really great.
Support is available, the weekly sessions we have to ask questions are useful.
It is going to be difficult for the training provider to put together a program that works for all the apprentices (who work in such a wide range of different roles, and industries). With this in mind, I feel that my university has overall done a great job of putting it all together.
I have been a part of a few different trips now, including school visits, business shows, and team days. Also every Thursday there is a five a side match of football which is good fun.
Yes
I could not recommend the apprenticeship more if I tried!
