I have 4 placements in the 4 years of my apprenticeship, where I rotate around different parts of finance. My first year was in global financial services where I worked in the purchase accounts team. My second year was in group reporting and accounting. And this year is my third year where I am currently in product marketing finance which is a business partnering role.
I have learnt many skills and behaviours along the way. Such as communication, presenting, problem solving, adding value, professional scepticism, ethics, decision making and many more.
I really love my apprenticeship programme. JLR are a great employer and offer so many opportunities to their apprentices and really value them.
Overall it is structured well. I think it could be organised abit better but generally good
Lots of support, we have our line managers, a talent board team, and an early careers team to help along the way
BPP are a great provider, their resources and support calls are great and very helpful.
EVERYTHING I learn in my studies, I have come across in my work in the different placements. This is why it is so much better to study alongside working.
I am in a JLR netball team, I am involved in regular wellbeing and network activities and I am able to volunteer to help out in external projects such as the big bang fair I am currently the scrum master for.
Yes
JLR are an amazing employer and the apprenticeship programme is, in my opinion, a much better route than the standard university route
Be yourself, be unique, think about what you can offer and how you can add value and dream big!
