  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • The ILAC Team are responsible for all Import and Export-related activity, building and maintaining relationships internally and externally with key partners. Driving the Softcat Sustainability mission, servicing sales, and complying with all HMRC rules and regulations. We work with our partners to offer successful end delivery to our customers. We have a robust network of freight forwarders who help us to fulfil our duties. We are always happy to jump on calls with customers and sales teams to share our knowledge and expertise. As an International Logistics team, we arrange delivery of our shipments around the world. This comes with managing the different and complex daily challenges that the world of shipping and logistics presents to us while also ensuring we comply with all HMRC rules in everything we do. We are one of the few teams that touch base with most of the different departments in the business, such as Sales, CS, Finance, Sourcing, Tax, and Legal. We also have a range of external partners and providers with whom we work closely alongside, offering us the ability to export to different locations using a robust network of couriers and freight forwarders.

  • Yes, I've learnt to have a comprehensive knowledge of software such as Microsoft excel, developed my communication skills, confidence and knowledge.

  • As much as i need, Softcat are very generous and flexible

  • Again, lots. Corndel are very efficient and communicative.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • It has given me a much wider knowledge of how businesses are run. As someone who has not come from a business background, it has been so valuable learning the fundamentals of business and gaining knowledge surrounding how i benefit a business.

  • Absolutely loads

  • The environment and opportunity for development and growth is unlike anywhere else i have ever seen.

  • Put into the interview process and job as much as you want to get out of it, softcat will give you the opportunities, you just have to be brave enough to take them.
