My role consists of replying to any queries employees within Softcat may have and also helping towards several other processes in the company.
Yes, since joining I have been able to grow my confident, this being by having the opportunity to do scenario's outside of my comfort zone. Alongside this, I have also been able to gain better organisational skills and also have developed my IT skills further.
I enjoy my programmed thoroughly. Softcat and QA have allowed me to have flexibility within my programme. with this, I am also enjoying completing the job role within Softcat and excited to see how the rest of my programme goes.
Through a website in which QA use for apprentices, I am able to see all of my progress made so far during my apprenticeship as well as see how many more units in which I have to complete.
Since joining, Softcat as a company have made sure I feel comfortable and settled in my role. From progress calls with L&D to having training plans in place with my manager, it has allowed me to get all benefits/experience in my apprenticeship.
QA have set me a mentor, who will book in calls every 3/4 weeks to go over what work I have completed, after every 10 weeks I then receive a progress call which includes my mentor speaking to manager on if I am on track, making good progress, etc.
I feel like my qualification has massively impacted my performance in my role. This being that it is heavily related to my work, allowing me to progress my skills and produce high quality work within my job role.
Yes, Softcat offer different groups in which you are able to join and network with other employers. L&D will also make sure that you are aware of any opportunities which may come up, to help you benefit from the programme as much as possible.
Yes
The first day in which I started working for Softcat, I instantly felt comfortable. All employees at Softcat are friendly and will make sure you are support and are always happy to answer any questions. I am very lucky to have this job role with Softcat.
My biggest advice would be to always be yourself. Being yourself will always allow you to stand out and Softcat value that. I would also say to be confident, apprenticeships are in place to help you grow and develop your skills to benefit you in your career role.
