I am an accounting assistant for Balfour Beatty and I'm on the AP 'matching team' where on a daily basis I am sent invoices to match and validate them so they can be sent off for payment. I also deal with many supplier queries and the process of statement reconciliations and remittances.
Learnt a lot of about accountancy and finance within the business. I have gained the ability to use the company's software (Oracle R12) and how to use Excel spreadsheets effectively.
I think it is the best programme as there is endless support offered and instructions are always very clear. I always know what I need to do, how to do it and when to do it.
Extremely structured, there is a clear plan for what is expected and when.
Endless support from my employer, whenever i feel as though I am struggling I can always ask for help and it is always offered.
Endless support, can talk to any of the tutors and message/call them if I feel necessary.
Extra knowledge helps be understand why I undertake certain tasks at work enhancing my performance.
Yes there is often activities anyone can sign up to such as lunches, theatres and parties etc. There are also allies affinity groups enabling connections across the company.
