Monday-Thursday I am in the admin side of the school. Mainly completing admin work such as phone calls, printing, binding, mail merges etc. As support staff, I also help assist with school trips if called upon or if I volunteer. Friday I am in the finance department. This involves looking at the finance side of the organisation and using financial ParentPay, payroll and others.
Yes, I am definitely a more confident person. My communication skills have improved and I have learned a lot of admin, finance and even behaviour management at my placement.
Every day is a different day so even if I am often repeating jobs/tasks, the days are always different. I days also go very quick too and I often do a lot of learning at my placement.
It is very structured. I am able to fulfil both work and coursework as well as learning more about my role.
My team leader is very supportive. She often gives me tasks to complete so I am always learning/busy as well as being there if I needed any help.
I get a lot of support. I have my tutors who I contact via WhatsApp as well as my other tutor who I see monthly are always offering their help and support.
It does help me a lot. The resources online help enhance my understanding of some of the key aspects I need to fulfil in my role. This helps me when I am at work to be better at my role.
There are a few such as the free school gym and a few events like the staff enrichment however, I don't get involved or haven't been informed of any extra-curricular activities at work
Yes
It is a very good training provider with a good balance between learning as well as being in the role learning about how to fulfil your role.
Look at other apprenticeships/apply for many to assess and open up your options.
