I am a room coordinator and work with children aged 21 months to 36 months. my responsibilities are to make sure the room is run well and the children are looked after. I interact with the children, staff in the room, parents and the management. I also have key children and have responsibility of making sure they meet their development needs and seek support from our SENCO if this isn't the case.
I am doing my level 5 to learn more about leading my team and to update my learning that I did many years ago. In my job role I am learning new skills all the time by completing courses and updating my skills that need to be updated. I also ask to be put on courses that I wish to learn more about.
My Level 5 apprenticeship course is very good and informative and I have learnt lots of new skills and also given me chance to talk to others about my skills and experience. My tutor is very nice and listens to everything and supports me when I need the support. I enjoy learning new things and look forward to each teaching session.
The programme is well structured and organised. I love the fact that everything is online for me to access whenever I need it and I can also message my tutor and receive an answer quite quickly. It is nice that the programme is broken down into sections and you learn at an easy pace.
I receive a lot of support from my employer. I have a mentor and am able to talk to them regularly about what I am learning and if there is anything they can support me with. I am given time to complete my tasks during work hours if I need it.
My training provider is very supportive and I am always able to send my tutor a message if I am struggling with anything. I like how the course is broken down and you have time to complete each section with support available at all times.
I feel that my qualification will help me immensely with my job role with the subjects that I am learning. It will help me to take on a better leadership role and help me to help others on my team.
None at the moment.
