  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I go around site checking that everyone is being safe and and acting accordingly if they are not. This also involves me conducting inspections and using the Yellow Jacket tool to facilitate this on site

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes I have learnt lots of new skills and have gained a whole new knowledge for Health and Safety including the legal side of it as well as the standards that we as a company meet

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Very much so I'm learning a lot and enjoy my days however it is very tiring trying to live your life outside of work when you have to be at work for 7 so I get very tired after work and sometimes can't do what I would like

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Very well structured I have no concerns except sometimes there is a lack of communication between my line manager and my tutors at college which had caused some issues.

  • as much as I need, if I need any support they are very accommodating

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Lots they are giving lectures every month and are available over email and phone whenever I need them.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • It gives me great knowledge that I can use directly on site with inspections and my knowledge of legal standards.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Not as many as I'd like so far we have had to plan our own though there is some professional networking events that go on

  • Yes

  • They are great at teaching you things and letting you stand on your own two feet whilst also being there to assist whenever you need it.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Mace?
  • Do it because you won't regret it. they are a great company to work for
