On a day to day basis, I manage a number of queries regarding invoicing and checking orders as well as communicating with external vendors in order to assist with the procurement process.
Yes, my communication skills have vastly improved within my time at Softcat, I have also developed a lot of valuable knowledge of process as well IT/excel skills. I have also seen a significant improvement in my time management and organisation.
I have really enjoyed my time on the programme so far, I find it challenging in a way that is constantly testing me and developing my skillsets within the workplace. Having the hands on experience is definitely going to support me in my future.
The programme is very well organised and follows a 80/20 structure. This means 1/5 days a week we have a dedicated day to our apprenticeship coursework and personal development. On this day, I have the time to learn and work through different modules and also time to reflect and develop on my personal targets.
I receive a lot of support from my employer, they allow time for me to focus on my apprentice work as this takes priority. I also feel I am given the appropriate support from my team to develop my knowledge of tasks.
I have monthly 1-1s with my tutor to reflect on my progress. We also have fortnightly workshops that focus in on each module of our programme in order to helps us understand the content more. these workshops are interactive and allow us to raise any concerns we may have regarding our work.
The skills we learn during our programme are very applicable to my everyday role, I have developed a wide range of skills such as communication, presenting and a greater understanding of excel all through the Corndel programme.
Yes, my organisation offers many of extra curricular activities such as a men and women football club, golf and running clubs.
