Assisting the engineers and construction managers with their daily tasks, includes conversing with subcontractors, learning about safety on site, learning the phasing of construction works.
Engineering knowledge and technical skills, communication, relationship building, time management.
I really enjoy the programme as I am a hands on learner, the programme helps me to learn that why by allowing me to get first hand experience on a construction site.
Well organised, training days can be accessible months before they happen allowing you to plan around these mandatory days, the progression within the apprenticeship programme has been highlighted and is a well thought out structure.
There is lots of support both within my project team and the wider business.
Lots of support, they check in to make sure I am getting on ok regularly and consistently make it clear that there is help available if I am struggling with anything.
My qualification is directly linked to my role, it also helps to develop a more mathematical understanding to what i see in front of me whilst on site.
There are often social events that are organised within project teams, sometimes expanding the invite out to contractors too.
