  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I worked as an auditor associate at PwC which involved sitting with my team and completing spreadsheets to assist with the audit of a particular client. I was often given coaching from people more senior in my team and then was given the independence to complete the tasks on my own, always with the option to ask for help from my team. We also had daily catch up calls to check our progress throughout the audit.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I thoroughly enjoyed my first placement and am looking forward to returning next January. I was always given adequate coaching and found it very easy to settle into the company and learn what I needed to be doing. After a while I felt like I was fluent at the job I was given, but could always rely on my team to help if I had any questions.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is very well organised and our instructions on our first day were very clear, which made it very easy to settle in. Due to the size of the company, it was important to explain that it was my first ever placement in audit to my team, but once i had they were extremely understanding and helpful.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I received a huge amount of support from my team, which I was hoping for at such a large company. There are also several channels to report issues or uncertainties within the company, which were made clear to us within the first week.
