I oversee the Payroll, Shared Service and Employment Relations teams for UK, Ireland and Nordics. This is mainly ensuring compliance and consistency across sites, functions and countries and ensuring the business is equip with knowledge to follow day to day HR processes.
Developed existing skills such as people management, coaching, broader thinking, finance and strategy
I do enjoy it but I have found it difficult to study at this level and work full time
Not always organised very well by the provider, room changes on the day, webinars cancelled, delivered the wrong guidance on the hours logging system at the start.
My Line Manager reviewed my progress regularly and assisted me with generating ideas and thinking differently
Very little, set assignments and the odd check in
I think I would be able to do my role without the learning but it has helped me approach situations differently and got me thinking about the whole business rather than just my area
Charity events such as walks, quizzes etc
Yes
Bags of opportunity to grow and open environment
Be prepared to get involved in everything, be open to change and efficiency is needed.
