I am a Level 2 qualified practitioner doing my level 3. My day to day role consists of me making sure the children’s needs are met while keeping in line with safeguarding and GDPR regulations. I am the health and safety officer and the fire safety officer. I need to make sure all the checks are completed as well as parent partnership is met.
My knowledge in this particular field has definitely grown just from working there for so long. I am fully confident and competent enough to take on a senior role within this line of work.
I do enjoy the role but wish to move on to a higher position as I feel I have more to offer. I have been on the apprenticeship for a very long time and should’ve finished a long time ago but due to an assessor not completing their work load, my work and apprenticeship as a whole was affected.
Depends on which assessor I will be talking about as I’ve had 4 in the last 3 years. One of them lost my work which delayed my finish time.
Again, it depends on who I would be receiving the support from. The line of work as a whole is struggling so it’s difficult.
I didn’t struggle with the childcare side of things but the maths side of things has also played a part in holding me back from finishing. The support has been there to the best of their abilities I believe but could definitely be improved.
The knowledge side of things has been easier to grasp with studying so I’d definitely say it has helped in that sense.
Not that I’m aware of, no.
Yes
Good start and some room for progression.
Make sure you are aware of the line of work beforehand and understand what goes in to being a childcare practitioner.
