  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have worked in two nurseries now in the baby room but there was about a year gap in between so I had forgotten most things. Having a new job in the baby room I have remembered lots but I have also learned how to interact better with the babies, communicate with them, accommodate to their learning needs through personalised activities. I’ve learned how to make bottles and how to cut food in the right sizes for the babies.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy working with the babies and doing the Level three massively. I have learned so much about how babies develop and their different needs. I have formed some lovely bonds with key children and I enjoy working as a team and sharing ideas with others. I can be creative when cording and planning activities.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • As a whole the programme is fine. I have a tutor i am able to ask for help with and there is regular set work. Sometimes I finish work early and ask for more. There is lots of resources and tutors I can ask for help with work. I am finding the work relatively easy.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • There are many people I can go to for help, advice and guidance. I often get fast replies or answers and they are as clear as possible when answering and supportive. I struggle with health issues and my employer have been supportive with allowing days off work and extension dates for assignments.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I have received a call from a man who coordinates functional skills maths. He said that is his work number and i can call any time and he will answer in the morning. I can call and ask about any work too. My tutor is understanding of my health issues and has given me an extension for an assignment.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I struggle with anxiety so when I have a lot of coursework or anxieties about maths work it affects me when I am working at the nursery and my day to day life. Tutors accommodating to me and giving me extra time sometimes puts my mind at ease and I can focus on the babies at work more.
