  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • I am currently involved in our first line manager development program, which gives me a chance to network with our future leaders. • 9a. Would you recommend B&Q to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • I have worked for the company for 20 years and I have seen how the desire to support and develop colleagues has grown in that time. How certain behaviours are no longer tolerated and the efforts that go into making our business a diverse and inclusive workplace. I watched how colleagues were supported throughout the pandemic and how we truly put people above profits and how we have continued to do this since. I am still very proud to wear the apron after 20 years and cannot imagine working anywhere else.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to B&Q?
  • Be true to yourself, understand your strengths and how you can use these to improve and support the business. Understand your opportunities and how you can improve or mitigate these areas.
