Day to day basis roles involves finding engineering solutions to design a commercial building fir out mechanically to achieve the client needs and meet regulations stated by CIBSE.
I have developed new skills, in which I have improved my mechanical knowledge in design a system within the building as well as using software such as Revit to model and present drawings.
I really enjoy working as an apprentice within this company as it helps and pushes me to gain and learn the knowledge to become an all round engineer which will help me once I have completed the course.
The organised/structure within the company has a solid platform for apprentices to come and begin their journey as an apprentice in the engineering world, not mentioning the various apprenticeship awards the company has won just shows how established the programme is.
I receive plenty of support from my employer not only from the team/line manager i work with but also the HR team who work hard to ensure we are on top of our university admin and ensure we have everything in place to best achieve our goals.
We have quarterly meetings with my training mentor which helps to make sure we are on top of our work and to ensure we are on the right track to achieve our qualifications.
As my employer is in close contact with my training provider it makes the journey easy as I know that there are things and people in place to help me through my journey as ensure I am not alone.
At work we make sure we have regular team bonding activities to ensure we work as a team and increase team moral while also getting the opportunities to go to social networking events such as CIBSE Young Engineers to network with engineers which are in the same position as me.
Yes
They have an established apprenticeship scheme along with all the awards to prove that they are one of the best in the industry. They also have a lot of support for you to help you through the journey of being an apprentice right up until you finish it.
I would recommend having some background or knowledge in AutoCAD/Revit as this is a vital software us apprentices use and would help give the edge in the interview process.
