I work in a branch for nationwide, which means i attend to customers needs and wants as fast and as best as i can, under pressure of the business
I learnt how to multi- task, in depth, i was constantly doing my day to day job in branch whilst completing my apprenticeship work as well so i was balances numerous tasks. as well as my time keep making sure things are submitted on time
I found the programme very difficult i felt as though the training company forgot that we worked a 5/6 day week, there were intense deadlines and unforgiving trainers if you ran over a deadline beacuse the branch had gotten to busy
I think in terms of the stages of the programme it was well set out i always understood what was next and what was needed from me in each stage and when things were supposed to be handed in
i felt as though the support i had from nationwide was super my managers worked alongside me to ensure i had training days and allocated time to fulfill the work that i needed and they tried to understand what i was writing about so they could help me
i felt as though the support from the training provider lacked.i had nicki and she was fab! but she then got taken over, and at that point i felt very on my own, i felt if i asked a question it was a wrong question and i should know what the answer should be and i felt that was very patronizing especially over email, i once had to ask my mentor to not speak down to me because i was only trying to do my best
i feel as though the apprenticeship has not supported me massicvely, i think it proves that i was determined and worked hard for the qualification.. i havent started any career progression yet so i am unsure of how it can benefit me at this moment
There are lots of things to get involved in within nationwide that i have helped with i.e. tea and tech- a digitial awareness day helping members get involved with the banking app, fraud event- working alongside the police to educate and help our members not fall victims of fraud, and charity fundraisers
Yes
I feel looked after here and that they have my best intentions at heart
DO IT! we look for people with great personalities that will be able to get on well with our customers and team, it does not matter your background everyone can fit in, it is such a inclusive company to work for. i would also say dont have your exoectations that you will just be counting money for people because it is so much more than that
