Whilst on my apprenticeship, my day to day role involved attending and organising meetings, assisting the consultants with change projects, and helping with policy workshops.
Before my apprenticeship, i had never worked in an office environment, so this apprenticeship allowed me to learn all of the key skills to help me succeed in the office, such as communication skills and organisational skills.
Choosing to do an apprenticeship was the best decision i ever made. I have been at Nationwide for nearly 5 years now, and i never would have progressed the way i have without having done my apprenticeship. The programme was really engaging, and it was really great to be a part of a wider cohort of apprentices and graduates at Nationwide.
My programme was really well structured, with webinars weekly and the option to have a study day at home once a week. I never felt like i struggled to get the assignments finished, and the level of support i received from both Avado and Nationwide was great.
Nationwide were great throughout the duration of my Apprenticeship. When i started in 2019, we had lots of Apprenticeship events which was a great way to network and meet other people in the cohort. Unfortunately when Covid hit, these had to stop, but Nationwide always ensured there was support available for us.
My training provider was great, the webinars were really engaging and structured, and the presentations were clear and helpful.
Without my qualification, i think i would have really struggled to succeed in my current role. The apprenticeship really helped me to learn all of the different aspects of HR, and gave me confidence to perform my role.
There are lots of different social activities here at Nationwide. There are plenty of sport clubs such as football, rugby, cricket. Most functions organise their own events which are great opportunities for networking. Attending the office also allows you to network and meet new people.
Yes
Nationwide is a great company to work for, especially as an Apprentice starting your career. The support is excellent, and the benefits are also really great. I really enjoyed my apprenticeship at Nationwide and i truly believe it is the best decision i made (and i'm still here 5 years later!!)
Be yourself :)
