I work in the warehouse picking and dispatching orders, Helping customers get what they need and helping them load there work vans ready for their day. Working in the warehouse also consists of making sure the shelfs are all clean and tidy as well as in order to make it easier for us or other members off staff to get what we need, Keeping the warehouse clean is also a massive part of my job too.
I have learnt how to be more talkative with customers and bettered my customer service skills. I have also became better at working in groups of people as well as working a lot by myself. Working to certain time limits has also became easier as there are certain times where stock is here a little late on being delivered and customers are waiting for they`re orders.
I really enjoy the programme I am currently doing, I have learnt so much in the time I have been here and continue to learn more. It has been made very easy for me to get to where I am through the people who have helped me along the way.
The programme is very well organised every step could not be any clearer, The structure of the programme is also very good, I know exactly when a certain topic needs to be done and what topic is next in line for me to complete. It is all very clear and simple to work through.
I receive support on anything I need help with whether it be help with anything I have to ask about working in the warehouse to any questions or help I might need out with the warehouse. The support is definitely needed sometimes and having the support there definitely makes the job a whole lot easier.
The support i got from my training provider was second to none, every step was very clear and extremely easy to do and the help and advise that was giving was also very good, knowing the support was there whenever i needed helped me to get through the qualifications needed.
I feel it helps massively, knowing what comes after the training is enough to make me work a lot harder its all massively worth while, knowing that all the hard work through all the training and time put towards passing will pay off definitely makes it feel a lot easier. The more i put in the more i get back.
Yes
The reason i would recommend anyone to work for Howdens is because of the achievement they would get from completing an apprenticeship, It definitely would not be as easy and straight forward anywhere else, The amount you will have been taught in a little amount of time is amazing, There's not much places that want to help anyone succeed as much as Howdens.
The advice i would give to anyone applying for Howdens would be, Just be yourself Howdens really look for people who are themselves, don't try be someone you aren't. I would also say make sure you are a good reliable worker, there is a lot of responsibilities to be aware off and to make sure you have good customer service that makes the job, being able to talk away to the customers and your colleagues definitely helps and makes your day to day at work a lot more easier and enjoyable.
