In my role I am involved in creating digital materials for the sales force to use to sell our products. These include, Promotional emails sent by the company (MAP), RTE's (rep triggered emails), working on the Pfizer Pro brand websites and other assets that will help market our products.
I have learnt many new skills such as brief writing, using tools such as canvas web builder for Pfizer Pro sites and tools to create assets for these pages. I have also learnt a lot about pharmaceutical marketing and how we work with medical teams to approve assets. I have also developed my soft skills significantly.
I am enjoying my program due to be given responsibility for tasks on projects that interest me. I also enjoy the daily interactions with others in the organisation and in my team because everyone is friendly and always happy to help.
My program is well organised in the way that everyone works together to get me where I need to be with work and university. progress reviews are helpful for this. The University aspect of the program could be perhaps more organised when it comes to helping us with what we need to do for our assignments.
I receive a lot of support from my employer - They are always happy to help and there if I need to ask anything or need additional support.
I do not receive as much support from my training provider, however they make it clear that we can email them and reach out if we need anything.
I feel my training provider somewhat helps me perform better in my role. this is because I have learnt to understand marketing in general better from my training what links into my role. However, I find it easier to learn on the job because it industry specific. My course isn't specific to the industry I work in.
We have team meetings every so often where we get together socially, and sometimes bigger meetings where there are opportunities for networking.
Yes
Because they are a very big, successful organisation where you are able to get involved and be part of a bigger team for a bigger initiative. Pfizer are very supportive of my development and push me to be better personally and professionally, while providing me with skills to kick start my career.
- Understand the difference in industry (mainstream compared to pharmaceutical) - Research the company and perhaps the therapy area you are applying for - be yourself and and show how you would be a good fit for a team on a personal level and professional level through a variety of skills.
