I work as a project leader working on drainage projects for Yorkshire Water. My role involves aiding design, highlighting health and safety requirements, liasing with the client and helping third parties with any issues.
I have learnt how to use websites such as BIM360 and CAD, as well as various other sites. I have also had to take on more responsibilities as i learn the technical side of design.
I'd say that it is challenging but in a good way. I enjoy learning technical details of projects and seeing the process in which structures are made.
Id say it is fairly well organised although I would like a detailed plan at the start of the year of the courses I will be taking and what they will entail.
I've had a mixed amount of support overall, which is probably due to the difference in the volume of work I have now compared to the start of my apprenticeship
When I am in classes the support is good, however it is hard to get in touch with tutors when away from college. This can be a problem if an assignment is due.
I feel that the course is very true to the job I'm doing and it has certainly helped my within my role. I would say that the course is slightly more geared towards site engineers which is understandable.
Yes there is a social club which put on even every month.
Yes
