I manage a team of 4 including a process supervisor, with varying levels of experience alongside my day to day job of managing the bad debt of our ULP and sublet estate.
Both! I have been a manager for 20 years in different roles and I feel I have a good understanding of how to manage my team, however a lot of those skills have been borrowed rather than learned / taught so it is good to really understand why we do things and put them into practice.
So far so good! I have only been on the course 3 months but no issues so far.
VERY well structured, I know and understand what is expected of me and this helps me to plan my week out around my role,
My line manager is very supportive. She lets me get on with my role but I know if workload ever gets too much that I can count on her to help me move things around.
So far so good!
Already I can see the benefits. I am more measured in my approach and I know that I have the skills in the bag to deal with various situations and so they seem less overwhelming.
Lots! I can get involved in as few or as many as I like. I am part of the Charitable Foundation * DisAbility network so theytend to keep me busy.
Yes
Its a great place to work - I was only going to stay 6 months and I've been here 9 years. Its inclusive, progressive and you get out of this business what you put in. I'm never short of opportunities that stretch me and can see the impact that I have on a day to day basis, both on my team and my day job.
Be yourself and bring the best version of you to work.
