  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role is an apprentice for level 3 nursery teacher. I work 4 days a week in the Cumberland Road Nursery, in the baby room and I go to LEYF academy one day every week for studying. My job is about making an enabling environment for children to grow and develop.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • My communication and language is progressed as English is not my first language. I learnt a lot about health and safety, safeguarding, child development, supporting children's needs, development theories and first aids. I am so confident and knowledgeable in caring and working with birth to five years old children.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoyed learning while using what I was learning on my day to day work at the nursery. I am actually planning to continue with my learning while working to get a level 6 qualification with London Early Years Foundation.

  • According to my experience and humble knowledge, I think it is amazing.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My qualification in childcare can greatly benefit me to be a confident nursery teacher and help me perform better in my role. It provides me with the knowledge and skills necessary to create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children to learn and grow. It also helps me to understand child development, learning theories, and best practices for teaching and managing behavior.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • As I recall, London Early Years Foundation has a yearly conference that gather all the 40+ nurseries in one place to share experiences and inspirations.

  • Yes

  • Because it offers lots of learning, developing and progressing opportunities.

  • It is a great learning opportunity that should seriously considered and to benefit as much from being an apprentice with London Early Years Foundation
