My job role involves anything to do with fabric construction /maintenance for example carpentry, painting, glazing ,ceiling tiles, digital locks, flooring, white rocking, mastic work ,estate maintenance, plastering, and many this means it can be different everyday as it’s not just one job. I think this amazing as I feel like I’m learning so much doing this and I am always enjoying myself doing these different jobs. I also work with different people within the fabric department so I can learn different skills from different people
At Skanska I have learnt so many different skills within the jobs I do I have learnt how I’ve have also learnt how to work with others as team to get jobs done. working with different people is good as you learnt different techniques and different skills on different jobs and I think this is amazing as you get the knowledge from more that one person
I am enjoying myself so much working with skanska and working with different people as I am learning so many different skills and techniques and I am really enjoying learning new things on the job and at the same time making new friends and this makes work so much more enjoyable.
At skanska everything is very well organised and runs smoothly i know exactly what I need to do and if I need help with anything i can revive that as I’m always working with someone as an apprentice. College is also very well organised as we have perfect facilities for doing theory and for practical work.
At skanska I receive all the support I need and more and this is absolutely amazing as I can talk to anyone if I need help with anything at skanska I see it as one big family as I get so much support from everyone and it makes work so much better
I receive a lot of support from my training provider and if I need any help with anything or have any problems I feel like I can talk to them, they are also teaching me so much and I feel like I am learning so many new and different skills from and it’s a really good experience.
It’s very helpful as they are teaching you the things you need to know to do your job and your learning new things all the time and it can be really interesting learning new things and it makes work exciting and rewarding when your doing a job as your using the skills ur being thought
Every year there is an event for all the apprentices to go out to and socialise with each other (escape room) this is really good as you work as a team and your socialising with the people you work with. Skanska also organise days where we play football just so everyone can have fun with each other.
Yes
I would recommend Skanska to a friend as I think it’s an amazing company and I have really enjoyed myself here so i believe they will also enjoy it as skanska is like one big family and everyone is just so friendly and you learn so much from different people and it’s also a chance to make new friends and socialise
I would advice them just to be there selves and not to be nervous as skanska are so welcoming and will make you feel comfortable. I would also advise them Just to ask any questions you have about the job as skanska are very respectful and they will answer any questions and also to 100% apply.
